WHO WE ARE
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Motorcycling is incredibly popular in Bangladesh, though in a different context. Unlike developed countries, where motorcycles are primarily seen as a source of sport and recreation, in Bangladesh, they serve as essential daily transportation. Despite their widespread use, basic knowledge about routine maintenance is largely missing, even among mechanics. Riders too, are often unaware of key riding skills, safety measures, and other crucial aspects of motorcycling.
Recognizing this gap, in 2017, a small group of enthusiasts, took the initiative to create a space where riders could come together and share knowledge, named it ‘Fuel Injection Club (FIC)’. The club was later rebranded and officially registered as Freewheelers Club Ltd Bangladesh (FCB), a non-profit motorcycle club in Bangladesh. Today, FCB stands as the only government-registered motorcycle club in the country.
GROWTH OF FCB
But why “Fuel Injection” instead of a more common name? The club’s original focus was on fuel-injected (FI) motorcycles, a segment that was beginning to gain traction in Bangladesh. In 2016-17, fuel-injected motorcycles started entering the Bangladeshi market in large numbers. However, there was minimal technical knowledge and discussion about these advanced featured bikes, particularly when compared to the more common carbureted motorcycles that dominated the market at the time.
To address this gap, Md. Rezaul Karim Shabuj (MRK Shabuj) and Md. Saifuddin envisioned a well-structured, informed motorcycle community. The goal was to bridge the knowledge and bring riders together in a supportive and educational environment. However, as the club grew, it became clear that focusing solely on fuel-injected motorcycles excluded many riders, as carbureted bikes still made up the majority of motorcycles on the road. To foster a truly inclusive community, the club rebranded on 2018, and became the Freewheelers Club Bangladesh (FCB). This rebranding allowed the club to welcome riders of all types of motorcycles, thus broadening its impact.
The club quickly became a trusted knowledge hub, offering detailed guidance on engine components, ECU related issues, drive chain/wheel alignment, and other critical aspects of motorcycle maintenance. FCB’s expert recommendations and problem-solving approach set it apart as a valuable resource within the biking community.
Beyond just technical support, FCB has always been committed to enhancing Bangladesh’s motorcycling culture. From its humble beginnings in 2017 to becoming the only government-registered motorcycle club in Bangladesh, FCB has grown into a trusted platform for bikers across the country. The club promotes riding education, safety, and mutual support among riders, striving to foster a sense of camaraderie. Whether it’s through organized events, workshops, or simply offering advice to fellow bikers, FCB continues to make a positive impact on the community.
